Therapeutic exercise is just as important as chiropractic, acupuncture, ART® and massage treatments. An injury can cause our deep stabilizing muscles to shut off or prohibit their correct firing patterns. Therapeutic exercises reset the muscles and provide the stability that your body needs to hold and maintain its correct function.
These exercises will complement all the bodywork that you receive in our office and also prepare you to get back to the activities that you enjoy. We love teaching you exercises and stretches because it puts you back in control of your own healing process!

what is the importance of therapeutic exercise?
Our bodies are made for movement. Since so many of us have jobs that put us in chairs for a good chunk of the day, the resulting mechanical dysfunction means exercise should play a larger role in our daily health and wellness. You don't need to be the next Iron Man (though we'd cheer you on if you were). All you need to do is find something you enjoy doing that also increases your heart rate and will get your muscles moving.
why do you teach therapeutic exercise?
At Embrace Healing & Wellness, we want to empower you to take control of your health and wellness. We can help you in the office, but we need your help outside of it! Exercise will help maintain the chiropractic and acupuncture work we do with your body, and it will increase your strength as well as any flexibility you may have lost because of the condition that brought you to us in the first place. It is also important that we evaluate and advise you on any exercises you may already be doing so we can make sure that your form is correct and that the exercise itself isn't exacerbating your condition.

If you're an athlete, we can help by evaluating your movement mechanics and identify any weaknesses your body may have. We can teach you how to be more efficient in your sport through increasing your strength and flexibility. Even the most elite athletes have weakness and dysfunction, and we can help you retrain to correct both.
