A native Southern Californian, Dr. Dawn Yoshioka Eberly (affectionately known as Dr. Dawn) grew up living a very active and athletic life. She’s always had a passion for sports. Now Dawn is busy raising two active boys, but she hopes to return to her loves of basketball, surfing, snowboarding and bicycling.

Every athlete has his or her fair share of injuries, and Dr. Dawn hasn’t been immune. Throughout the years, she has been treated with both acupuncture and chiropractic care and most recently, functional medicine.  From these experiences, Dr. Dawn has learned that finding the root cause of problems can help the body heal faster and more efficiently than relying solely on medications. The benefits of these styles of treatment drove Dr. Dawn to pursue her own studies to incorporate traditional Chinese medicine with chiropractic and functional medicine.

Dr. Dawn and AjaxTo this end, Dr. Dawn achieved her Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology at UCLA. Following her undergraduate studies, she earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic and Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Southern California University of Health Sciences. This is where Dr. Dawn studied under some of the most respected acupuncturists and doctors of oriental medicine.

With a desire to expand her knowledge of sport-related injuries, Dr. Dawn became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) and also attained a certification in Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), which is a patented soft-tissue system/movement-based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Her most recent educational additions are in the world of functional medicine, which involves evaluating client blood labwork to see an overall picture of health.

Dr. Dawn created Embrace Healing & Wellness to provide the most comprehensive care to her patients. She always had the dream that she could help people as a whole rather than treating just the symptoms of disease. Her motto: Live your life now—embrace your healing and wellness!
